Aces Give Back the Community
Since signing the 2007 team, the Aces have been out in St. Louis spreading the word about the team.
In February, the Aces helped make Tennis History Night and the St. Louis District Annual Award an historic night. Team owner Dan Apted emceed the evening events as well as contributed the Aces involvement to help raise money for the AAA Youth Foundation’s 300 plus St. Louis tennis enthusiasts.
In March, the Aces recommitted with Live for Life Academy to be the Aces outreach partner. Assistance with programs, a fundraising party, racquets, summer clinics for kids and an end of the summer fundraiser is just the beginning to the Aces 2007 Outreach Partner. Also in March, the Aces helped Catch A Falling start a tennis program for kids with needs. The Aces recruited local college tennis players to volunteer to help the kids.
In April, the Aces partnered with Frontenac Racquet Club to put a local pro on the tour. The Aces and Creve Coeur Racquet Club provided promotions, complete with food, and prizes to help raise money for local talent Lance Vodicka. Close to 100 supporters attended to raise nearly $10,000.
The Aces, along with Michelob Ultra and David Kodner Jewelry, underwrote as our main sponsors to the Dwight Davis “Tee Up for Tennis” golf event. Just under 100 players participated, highlighted by a hole in one by long-time St. Louis tennis player Jerry Johnson. Prizes and products by Aces owner helped to raise close to $10,000 for the Dwight Davis Tennis Center. The Aces owners all made a trip to California to attend the Billie awards which raised money for the Women’s Sports Foundation. This year, the Aces hope to create more local interest in the Women’s Sports Foundation and all that it does for our athletes of all ages.
